How You Can Help Our Community

Whenever there is a crisis, Girl Scouts are among
the first to respond. The outpouring of compassion
and requests to provide support are pouring in
following the attack on our police force in Dallas last

Because we are committed to helping our girls take
action in their local communities, Girl Scouts of
Northeast Texas is waiving the standard fundraising
policy to allow Girl Scout troops and service units
the opportunity to participate in or host local
fundraisers to directly benefit the families and
victims of the tragedy.  All troop/service unit
activities and donations must be completed by
August 15, 2016.

Donations should be made to established funds
benefiting the victims of the tragedy such as Assist
the Officer Foundation (, Dallas
Foundation Line of Duty fund for Fallen Officers
(, United Way of Metropolitan
Dallas Unite Dallas Relief Fund for Officers
(, or to the direct fundraising
for one of the victim's families such as those
supporting two of our Girl Scout members who lost
their father, Sgt. Michael Smith, in the line of duty.

troop/service unit plans to respond, please email
